I'm thinking I am going to try to raise some interest in the UNICES
in the Business school, perhaps with flyers etc, but I need some
good stats (specifically as they apply to "corporate america" and
things like "UNIX vs NT" and/or "Linux vs NT") because what I've read
indicates a swell in UNIX. If someone could help that would be great.
Hmm. At one point, I had bookmarked the URL for a Unix Vs. nt paper,
but for some reason it isn't where I think it should be. I would look
for it, but my time is pretty limited today. I do remember finding it
on www.redhat.com, though that was before the site redesign, and I
have no idea where it is now. It was somewhat amusing, documenting
microsoft's purchase of Hotmail, and its failed attempt to convert it
over to NT. Apparently, NT couldn't handle millions of users (Whoa,
really? :), so Hotmail had to revert to "inferior" Unix. It also
mentions the fact that www.windows95.com doesn't even use windows, and
lists major sites such as www.nfl.com and their respective
OS's. Really wish I still had the link to this for you, it'd
definitely help you out.
