Well, depending on the clue-level of the other people using your machine,
you could consider making that machine a DOS box with enough stuff
to run tcp/ip and make people use POP clients to read their mail. I have
an old laptop at my place that serves this purpose (although most of my
guests insist on cruising the web on the server machines).
