I'd have to disagree with the JumpStart suggestion, for one very basic
reason.
JumpStart makes the install much easier for the volunteer doing the
install, but it won't teach the newbie anything about installing his
system. I must have reinstalled Slackware 50 times before I got it like I
liked it, and even with some experience & understanding, every time I play
with a new distro, I'll kludge it up & have to start over a couple of
times. It's part of the "Linux Experience"....
If we do an out-of-box install, I think that not only will we teach
attendees more of what they need to know, but we'll also instill more
confidence in the whole idea of using/playing with/experimenting on Linux.
Even Slackware is an easier, more intuitive install than Windows 9x. We
should let folks SEE that.
