Allright,

Well we've definatively got the motivation. So lets go with it.
I think its best if we do it on campus because many students, like me,
don't have a car. Bumming a ride with your bulky-box is a favor not
everyone will be able to pull. So on campus for sure.

Taylor 2.006 is HUGE. I can bring out a hub, and other people mentioned
they can bring a hub. SIGLinux can probably borrow some extension cords
from the Department. So we could probably get the most in that room with
the help of a lot of ethernet cable (cheap at altex I hear), networking
hardware, and extension cords.

As far a CD's goes, SIGLinux gets really good prices from Linux Central
and from my experience they're CD's don't flake out like the 3 out of 4 I
got from cheapbytes.
We need to limit the number of different distros we bring, or at least
the number of the ones that we are pushing at the installfest. Last year,
most people who came to get CD's were confused by the fact of what a
distro is.
So what I'm trying to say, we could give them a huge selection but most
people will just be overwhelmed and pick Redhat or a Redhat dirivative.

So I guess I'll either order Mandrake (I've heard newbies rave about it
over redhat) or Redhat. TurboLinux will probably also be present, since
Justin can probably come down and maintain those installs during the
installfest. I'll bring Debian (hehe), but I'm not sure if I'm going to
mention it or push it. We'll just have it handy in case someone requests.
I guess we could do that will any of the other distros.

I don't mind suggestions on distro choice, but please lets
avoid a flame war. So make sure your suggestion has some real meat of an
explaination and not jsut "DistroX is the best, because its totally
badass.

Are Sunday's better than Saturdays?!? Parking around Taylor is alot
better on sundays.

Plan on a pre-installfest meeting for volunteers. I'll reserver a room,
for like lets say two weeks from now. I'll announce it to the list before
the weekend is over.
We'll probably meet in Taylor 2.006 look around see what we need, break up
tasks. Maybe assign some positions, like turbolinux questions guy would
go to Justin. We can plan two fests maybe a few weeks a part then after
the first one decide if and how often we should do more fests.

A HUGE THANKS to everyone for all the suggestions, keep-em coming.
Thanks to Paul/Ece for getting the talking going.

-Omar
