I believe this was debated at great length a couple of years back.
For Certain Reasons, which I don't recall now but seemed convincing at the
time, drno or somesuch decreed that that was Not The Right Way To Do It.
Probably part of it is we want replies to be personal by default,
so that you have to *explicitly* reply to the list. This cuts down on a
lot of sludge from what are really personal threads.
