Why dont you just carry cash? I've never had a problem with immigration
even with large sums of money. Just spread out in various areas: shoes,
money belt, wallet, underwear etc....
The one time I got stopped was in India, in Bombay, when i was carrying
money in my shoe, even then they only wanted to know why i had money in
my shoes :) they had no interest in the amount. To my knowledge upto
$10,000 is allowed without any declaration....check the RBI website
they keep changing these things...
