Yeah for some strange reason, IT is very easy to get hardware and books at real
cheap prices in hyderabad. I have found that buying commodity hardware
(hard drives, graphic cards, speakers) in Hyderabad is cheaper by as much as
30-35% sometimes compared to Bangalore or Bombay.

If you don't mind, where in Hyderabad would this be? I've followed this thread
closely since the mention of MacBooks came up - I've been trying to get one
through an academic discount in Singapore/US, but the purchase has been
complicated by the fact that I'm trying to avoid some hardware serial nos.
known to have technical problems. So, getting in touch with a reliable reseller
here in India would make things infinitely easier for me.

The place for books is Kothi (You also get some tempting chats at
Gokul Chat nearby).
For computer hardware, you might want to try the CTC (Chenoi Trade
Center) complex
near the famous Paradise hotel (known for it's awesome biryani). I am
not sure whether
you will get Macbooks there. You can give it a shot though.

If you want to know the price which they sell in India, I can find
out. The Apple Store is
right across the road from my office in Bangalore.
