most of it is windows 2000...it doesnt have remote desktop....they have something called terminal server, but
that (apparently) requires a separate license...or so the local microsoft office in that country told me.....and buying
a license for that requires upgrading to xp server...since they dont sell licenses for older software :-/

i ll take a look at the other stuff you mentioned.....

(just had a very strange conversation on the IBM website --- 'chat to a sales person live', there was a mr.henry -
he was apparently human, but he chatted like a machine...

me:    hi, am looking for info about software X.....

henry:    yes, what would you like to know....

me:     <various details...price tech etc..etc...>

henry:    where are you located....

me:    kenya...but the software is for <other countries>

henry:    sorry i cannot give you this information...please contact
the IBM partners in all those countries. we provide information
only to people in america

me:   i did that , most of them have never heard of this software....
i just want the ex-US price thats all...

henry:    sorry i cannot...blah...

me:   if i had told you, i was in america would you have given me the
info i am looking for??

henry: yes...

me: so why dont you assume i am not in kenya but in america...and
give me the info??

henry: i cannot do that since you are not in america....

i yelled a bit after that , but he couldnt hear me, i dont understand what problem he has...? i am just
trying to find out some pricing info about something they are selling....)
