I may have missed some earlier posts, but has anyone on this list been
_blindly critical_ of anything, ever? I exclude posts by a certain Ayn
Rand fan.

I find it interesting that you single out the question arbitrary detention of
innocent Muslims. That is obviously wrong, as was the detention of twelve
Indians on a Northwest flight for misbehavior of a commonly seen kind that,
for the first time in the history of aviation, was considered suspicious of
terrorist behavior. This arbitrary detention seems to be a bigger worry in
the West that it is in India.

My perception is that it was a big worry in India as well, from the
amount of coverage Indian TV channels gave to it. Even Indian channels
based in the UAE. Also, a few years ago, an Indian actress and her
colleagues were briefly detained upon landing in the US because their
co-passengers found their excitement (on their first trip to NY)
suspicious. That was also a major story.

declared Islamic state like Saudi Arabia or Iran. Nevertheless India is
described (in semantically accurate words) as "Hindu dominated" India.

It's Hindu-dominated all right.

I have worked for two large employers in India. One was a state-owned
life insurance company, with over a 100,000 employees. The other was a
family-owned business.

In both, every time a Hindu religious festival came around (which is
roughly every other week), offices resources and time would be used to
perform religious rituals in office premises. This does not happen for
Muslim or Christian festivals. Even though the branch of the insurance
company that I worked for was in a Muslim-majority area, and we
actually had a significant percentage of Muslims in the office.

does not strike anyone that the US should really be described as "a
Christian dominated nation where Muslims are in a minority"

Just like it doesn't strike anyone to describe Saudi Arabia as a
Muslim dominated nation. It's obvious that the US is a Christian
dominated nation - it even has a President who talks to God!

Hindu dominated India has some peculiar problems of its own resulting in a
caste system of criminals. Certain criminals always get away, and certain
people are always spared from terror. Certain people always get incriminated
and another group always is at greatest risk from terror. The actions that
need to be taken to stop this in India are quite different from the very very
Western viewpont that I believe you have posted. But the last time I said
something like this Udhay got worked up and said I was trolling.

I agree. It's time to stop people with money, influence and
connections abusing the legal system to get away with murder. Or any
other crime. The reason Udhay (and I) felt you were trolling is
because you ignore the rich and the politically connected evading the
law, and focus on the religious leaders doing so. Blinkers, Shiv.

We need to get all the bastards in jail. Preferably in a single cell.
Irrespective of which God they pray to. Actually, as far as I am
concerned, praying to any God should be grounds for the strictest
punishment.

I have been deeply immersed in this subject for a while now

Yes, we know. It'd be fun to have the old Shiv back, at least once in a while.
