I live just about a minute's walk from the Adyar Sanjeevanam (and am
going there for yoga and massages right now courtesy a bad back).

The food is very tasty indeed. But very very bland. If you want spicy
food, that's not the place for you.

Horrifically overpriced .. you get stung for a 'donation' of Rs.200+

Dakshin isnt bad, and Copper Point at GRT Grand Days isn't bad either.

There's Matsya (in Egmore and on Thanikachalam Road in T.Nagar). Matsya
is the only place that serves authentic udupi food, which you won't find
in the majority of 'udupi hotels' around the place.
