For Left libertines, it's okay to malign Christ and Durga in 'art'
A large cross depicting Christ with his penis hanging out, semen dripping
from it into a commode.
A nude woman with a baby attempting to push its way out of her vagina. The
caption below the painting reads: "Durga Mata".
Frankly, I'd find this pretty distasteful [1]. This seems to be just
another example of the recent trend of "shock art" like the display of
dead bodies as art:

However, in my opinion, the correct response to art that you find
offensive would be (depending on how offended you are):
* Don't look at it.
* Speak out against it.
* Organise a boycott.
That is, exercise your rights as the artist has exercised his.
There is no place for censorship in a free society. So called, "Hurt
Sentiments" call for debate -- not thuggery and censorship.

PS: I freely admit that I am pretty much a philistine when comes to
art. I really haven't been able to "get" most art after the
impressionists.
