I know this probably was a cheesy effort but has anybody seen the American
carmaker(sorry don't remember who) campaign with the slogan "Rethink
American" inciting people to buy hybrid cars. I wonder if an Indian take on
that in the form of PSAs encouraging people not to buy cars could be made?
"Rethink upward mobility" perhaps? the MTV generation could be vulnerable to
those messages translating into thousands of cars not being bought...some
youth leaders have to espouse this message.

I have never owned a car, lived in the US 12 years without doing so and
don't own one in Canada now and don't really miss it (who could miss road
rage, stressed shoulders and hands??). In fact, i have traveled by train
from coast to coast in the US and had a fantastic time doing so (met some
real wild west characters in the New Mexico part of the journey).

Here in Canada, they espouse the smart car and the hydrogen highway. Can
anybody tell me whether the smart car is really efficient? because the so
called smart car houses only 2 people! As for the hydrogen highway, the
"green" Governor Arnold Schwartznegger says that his 3 HUMMERS are running
on hydrogen. Something wrong with that picture:-)))))

Most Indians aren't, they are signing their lives away.
