I think you are being unfair to me. It is one thing to disagree with what I
say, but expressing that disagreement by classifying me personally as being
something or the other is ad hominem which I do not take lying down.

Shiv, with all due respect (and I do respect you) you too have more
than once in this discussion attacked someone's credentials or other
aspect of them personally rather than discuss their ideas. The most
recent example being asking if Ashok had been to Rawanda in response
to him citing it as an example of similarity to Hindu castes.

Admittedly, my pointing out your ad hominems is not a refutation of
your accusation of other people using ad hominem - you are correct
that there have been such. My pointing it out would be ad hominem
itself if I were trying to disagree with your thesis, but I'm not.
Just saying, as someone who appreciates your viewpoint even when I
disagree with it, that there has been plenty of ad hominem to go
around in this thread.

And I agree with Biju that it has become tiresome enough that I'm no
longer interested in participating in the discussion.
