I have heard (but do not know anyone personally) that some computer hardware vendors in Bangalore do a road-trip Bangalore-Delhi-Bangalore for shopping.
I know of one adventurous soul who bought a car (one of the original Maruti-800 - with kit from Japan) in Delhi and drove it down to Bangalore, stayed there for a few months and drove back to Delhi.
