My kid already does this. In fact, she giggles to my wife that "daddy can't understand this ...." in Japanese but then gets rather pissed when I respond in context and in English. She's three. She doesn't realize that I know almost as much Japanese as she does, but considering her rate of language acquisition that will not be true in just a matter of months. Then I'm toast. For life. :)
