If you don't mind high-end hotels, the Marriott is decent. [1] I've stayed there and it's got good wireless broadband and 24h room service, and their restaurants are not bad either. It's in the heart of the suburbs, but relatively close to the airport. And which part of Mumbai you stay in doesn't give you much of an advantage regarding going to Pune, unless you stay in New Mumbai, which I wouldn't recommend. However, it does matter which parts of Mumbai you intend to visit or hang out in. The Marriott is ideal if your work is in the suburbs, but if you need to go to town (Nariman Point, Cuffe Parade etc), then its advisable to look for a hotel there.
