Cory Doctorow [20/06/08 16:02 +0100]:
I think I could be happy in a 3-star -- the Indian equivalent of a
Comfort Inn.
Like I said - dont ever go below $200 - you will end up in LITERALLY a
roach motel. AKA mold on the walls, peeling paint, dodgy food, prostitutes.
And WHERE in bombay, again? That's a very relevant question. Commutes in
bombay can be (in fact ARE) hellish.
If you're anywhere near the airport try the Mirador. If Worli, try the
Shalimar. Juhu - there's Ramee Guestline. Suburbs - there's The Park in
Navi Mumbai,
There's one hotel that tripadvisor rates real high, ditto Lonely Planet
Its in a decent area too - walking distance of Bombay VT / Churchgate etc.
The Residency Hotel - tripadvisor says "$78" but that hardly sounds
believable

www.residencyhotels.com .. it looks nice but at 2200 rupees thats almost
backpackers rates. And they say there's free broadband too.
Almost too good to be true, that. But its a fun area - the most historic
and most central part of bombay. And the hotel's a historic building.
