Frequently, it is the non-vegetarians in the US who have misconceptions. Being a vegan, this is rather irritating to me. For years, I've had the following recurring dialog: "I'm a vegetarian." "So do you eat [fish|chicken]?" "No, I'm a VEGETARIAN." However, I'm happy to repeat that in the past few years, this seems to have stopped happening -- a lot of people now seem to actually understand the word "vegetarian", and some even now get "vegan". (Though I suppose I'm a not-quite-vegan in that I'll happily eat honey -- perhaps that makes me akin to the "vegetarians" who eat fish.) Perry -- Perry E. Metzger [EMAIL PROTECTED]
