I'm going to sharply bring down the level of the books being referred to, and
say that, out of sync with my high school- and college-mates, I could never go
more than a few pages of those Mills and Boons and Hermina Black type of
novels. These are the staple diet of generations of young women, so I wonder

Deepa.

I read 28 MBs and 37 Georgette Heyers when I was in the first year of my Post
Graduation - I was doing my final term paper on the genealogy of romance
literature, tracing it from Aphra Ben through Jane Austen to popular romance
literature. It actually turned out to be more fun than I had expected. There
were some very creative ways of refering to sex, human genetalia and lust which
formed the fodder for much hilarity and bonding among friends :)
