Well in my view the popularity of self help books does not translate to Indians not being confident. In fact they may be overconfident and overoptimistic in imagiing that self help books will help or that "self help" will suffice. Indians by and large are overconfident IMO, especially about themselves as individuals. Losing some of that would be a great idea. shiv
