Like Peter said. I'm not a horror genre fan, because I'm not a fan of being
scared out of my wits.
Read The Shining as a teenager and couldn't sleep on my own for several
months :-)
In recent times though, I've started picking at the margins of the genre.

I really liked King's book, *On Writing*. It's a classic. For those who
want to check it out, the first part is a memoir which focuses on how he
came to write. It also functions as a device for telling his life story.
The second part is on how to approach writing. Both are worth it, but those
who don't want to read about the writing craft will still appreciate part
one.
