first effort - 4x 9v batteries in tap-water
We sprayed that particular batch on the garden today.

second effort - underway now; 4x 9v batteries in steam-distilled water,
heated in a coffee-maker pot on the stove.
Do I keep the fire to the water until the batch is done, or just
preheat the water?

About this 40mA bulb... I went to Radio Shack this eve, and the helpful
clerk said all his bulbs were too big - 1v or more. What sort of bulb
should I use in my "machine" that is 40mA? Maybe if I knew what sort of
bulbs were 40mA, I'd know where to look to buy one.

My silver wires both bubbled up nicely when I put them in the water.
Now, I'm just waiting to watch the streamers start forming...
