concentrace is a liquid mineral supplement that is high in magnesium,
it is from the great salt lake in utah, and it sells by the 8 oz
bottle, last time I checked. Since you already take lots of vitamins
and minerals, maybe you could examine your bottles to see how much
calcium and magnesium you are taking in.
When I had this problem bad enough to send me to the dr, I was taking a
calcium supplement that had a 2:1 ratio of cal to mag. I was also
taking epsom salts baths (more magnesium), and I was eating lots and
lots of greens (I do love my greens, another great source of
minerals). Her initial thought was not enough magnesium, she looked at
all my bottles of pills and wrote them out, took some blood for a
calcium/mag test and sent me homw. When the blood test came back, my
mag was WAY too high, so she told me to go home and check every single
thing that went in my mouth, incuding salt, and ditch the calcium/mag
supplement and find one with only cal. So, no more epsom salt baths,
no more cal/mag pills- my salt turned out to have magnesium added to
it, so I switched brands.
The more detective work you do, the more info you can have to give the
dr if she asks.
The bath with epsom salt can be used as a diagnostic test of sorts,
because we do absorb it through our skin.

No. I am not taking diruetics.. I take lots of vitamins and
minerals, as I've stated previously. I do not know what concentrace
is. I am pretty relaxed and getting to sleep is no problem. I have
no cramps on going to bed. The cramps attack me around 4 in the
morning.
I am not fond of baths. I prefer a shower.
Thanks to All for kind suggestions.

Subject: CS>Non C/S - Severe muscle cramps
Faith,
Before your doctor scheduled Neurology appointment (oh, please -
don't get
me started) . . . . . get some Concentrace. Take 1/4 teaspoon of
Concentrace
in juice every day for a week. Also, get some Epsom salts - and run a
bath
tub of hot water and pour in two pounds of Epsom salts with a cup of
H2O2.
Not only will it help the muscle cramps it will relax you. Plan on
getting
into bed afterward or taking a nap for a while. And take precautions
getting
out of the tub. It will wilt you.
You may be low in Magnesium. Or your Cal/Mag balance may be off. You
could
try Magnesium Orotate and Calcium Orotate. They are easily absorbed
and do
not cause difficulty.
Also, consider that your sodium levels may have increased and
potassium
levels decreased which can easily cause severe muscle cramps. This
condition
is known as Hypokalemia and results from low potassium. Are you
taking any
diuretics?
As far as CS helping muscle cramps, I don't know about that. Someone
else
will have to chime in here.

Does CS help muscle cramps?
I am having severe muscle cramping of the legs and feet at night.
These
cramps are more like seizures and they wrench me out of a sound sleep
2 or 3
times a night. This is really cutting down on my sleep.
My hands are also cramping badly during the day, though not as often
as my
legs and feet. My feet and hands can sometimes feel heavy and numb.
My doctor does not know what is wrong and he has scheduled me to see a
neurologist on October 1.
Will CS help this problem?
Thank you.
Faith
