Hi Faith,
Sorry to hear about your trouble. My grandmother also experienced
similar passing out, and it was determined after quite some time and
tests that she needed alot of extra salt. She ended up taking salt
pills. This might be an easy thing to do on your own, to take a gram
of salt and see if that brings up your blood pressure. If you have an
at home blood pressure monitor you can check it yourself. They are not
too expensive, around 30 dollars or so.
It would be a shame to have heart surgery if it could be corrected by
electrolytes. I also know other people who use salt in this way.
I am wondering if they checked your sodium and potassium levels? This
is a pretty common thing to check here.

A couple of weeks ago I passed out while in front of my computer. I
don't know how long I was there. When I woke up I was very nauseated
and sick. I laid down for awhile but could not recover from the
nausea and sickness. Finally had to call the rescue and be taken to
the hospital. This is not an isolated incident. A few months ago I
went into the bathroom to brush my teeth and woke up on the bathroom
floor. I just go 'boom' with no warning. I am not always nauseated
but when I am nauseated it seems that I am unable to recover from the
nausea without some type of medication.
While in the hospital I wore a telemetry unit and a holter monitor and
it was discovered that my heart rate dropped to 30 one night . It
also dropped to 50 quite often. I am also experiencing a few missed
heart beats and this is why my cardiologist thinks I might need a
pacemaker. I had open heart surgery 11 years ago for a single by-pass
and an aortic valve replacement (the same surgery Arnold Swarzenager
(sp?) had voluntarily to improve the quality of his life). I am
waiting to see a specialist sometime within the next few weeks about a
pacemaker possibly.
Anyone else wear a pacemaker? Thanks. Faith G.
