Hi, I believe it was Brooks Bradley a couple of years ago who discussed the use of CS for Parvovirus; His suggestions were to use it as an enema, just to avoid the problem of aspiration of the solution into the lungs. I believe that he also recommended using something like pedialyte, gatorade, anyway a balanced electrolyte solution, since this speeds up absorbtion by a factor of four times. The last of the large colon is devoted to re-absorbing water from the fecal material, so it's no surprise this works well.
Parvo can be brutally fast, often less than 24 hours from totally alive to the opposite; there often isn't time to get to the vet. Good thinking to use the CS, congratulations on saving a little life!!
