With respect to all who have already posted, the carbs in the pedialyte
are not only for taste. It does help the taste for children, but having
carbs in an oral rehydration solution is helpful in regaining health.
When having severe diarhea, or with vomiting, getting some calories is
very useful. Using fructose instead of sucrose can be helpful.
