You have a basic setup.
The primary requirements are:
Use only distilled water!!!
if your container is a regular 8 ounce glass, the timing should be
only 30 to 45 minutes max.
What you made will work fine for your animal, but try for the above
next time.
Just wipe off your rods with a paper towel and you'll be good to go.
