I actually had this happen. I was using Iosol painted on over my
thyroid as a result of being told it would help the hypothyroidism. I
then ended up with thyroid nodules. Iodine is not a mineral to be use
lightly.
I have found that the magnesium formula used is important. I use
MagTabs SR because they are sustained release. I use it in the
morning and then I use magnesium chelate at lunch and dinner. There
is some wonderful information on the web about magnesium, the
different formulae and their effects. I read it is important that it
not work too fast as it needs to be kept in the bowel for a
considerable amount of time or it is not properly absorbed and a
supplement that caused quick evacuation might actually contribute to a
mag deficiency. People will need to find what works best for them
after doing some research.

Interesting mag info. Any particular links to share? I have not found a
form of oral magnesium that I can take (it all gives me diarrhea even at
very low doses). Currently I am experimenting with topical magnesium,
nothing positive to report so far but I haven't been applying it daily yet.
