*Anyone ingesting this stuff?* One or two teaspoons per day mixed in fresh made veg/fruit juices. Nigari may have more sodium in it than what I got which was MgCl flakes from Swanson in North Dakota. <http://www.swansonvitamins.com/SWU495/ItemDetail> They bill this as taken from an ancient salt deposit in Holland<http://www.swansonvitamins.com/SWU495/ItemDetail>called Zechstein seabed in the Netherlands
Nigari is made today (no ancient deposit) as a byproduct of making natural sea salt. Solid natural source from relatively unpolluted Okinawa --- http://www.naturalimport.com/shop_for_nigari?b=1 I am temporarily on a 100% raw diet with lots of juices (even watermelon rind juice) and the MgCl ingestion is quite compatible with that. If you are eating cooked foods and a more normal diet the MgCl might give you diarrhea...that's the rap. Magnesium in general has this effect. This is why the trans-dermal is promoted *My own take is that someone who is really magnesium deficient should go not be content with trans-dermal. He should try to up his magnesium levels faster by going on a light raw diet or juice diet or juice diet with a few fruits at night.....Do this for 4-7 days and take one teaspoon of MgCl ---twice per day dissolved in fresh juice.* After this go to trans-dermal when you resume normal eating. I am also using mag-oil trans-dermally on a knee that bothers me a bit. First I use a seven star hammer on the knee to help the MgCl to penetrate. What is a seven star hammer you may ask? To make mag-oil just add as much mag flakes or nigari to half a cup of good water as it will take. Start with adding half cup of flakes. It will take more than that. Stop when you cannot dissolve any more mag flakes in the water. So far so mag-oil has been berry berry good to me garrick On Mon, Jun 14, 2010 at 1:19 PM, Alan Jones <[email protected]> wrote: > Thanks for sharing these sources.
