Do you need to use anything at all? I Haven't used anything but water in probably over 20 years - mostly because I hated the taste of toothpaste. I do on occasion use a strong peroxide solution which I brush onto my teeth and let sit for a couple minutes.

We should all be brushing our teeth with something.. even bar soap that does not contain glycerine, flouride or artificial flavors/colors/ingredients etc. There are quite a few natural soaps without glycerine. The glycerine retards the reenameling of the teeth.http://100777.com/health/teethcare I haven't used commercial toothpastes in years. I use baking soda or miracle soap or Tooth Chips from Rose of Sharon Acres... Their website has some good information also. http://roseofsharonacres.com/tooth_chips___soap_for_teeth?gclid=CNWBjLzBlboC FU1k7AodL38AYQ Lola H. On Mon, Oct 14, 2013 at 12:11 AM, A. But what do I recommend to a friend, who can't get the original Ivory? I'm currently living in Kenya, and wonder whether there's a product that's widely available, and otherwise I could purchase this in the U.S., several months from now when I visit. And by the way, what deleterious effects would there be, when brushing with ordinary soap? Reid
