Chayawanprash is a bit spicy for me. I prefer http://www.indiaabundance.com/shopping/sp47_pr993/Maharishi_Amrit_Kalash.html
We get the complete package although to get the Amla you can just buy the paste. I blame this on why I can never get to try out CS, my Spooky2 and my Zapper. Too healthy. : ) Al On 2014-02-27, at 15:32 PM, PT Ferrance wrote: It is so good you may be tempted to eat too much and put on weight! It is about the size of a golfball. You can cook it without destroying the vitamin C. It is considered a rasayana meaning it is good to take daily. It is in a variety of Ayurvedic preparations and if you have access to an Indian corner store you can always find Chayawanprash. Very reasonably priced and very good to consume as it has lots of other things put into it. Specifically rose hip powder and camu camu. As an herbalist I avoid isolated compounds. I have made a batch of 1:3 ratio with rose hip powder and had good results which tested for 75% encapsulation...but I'm having issues calculating the exact amount of vitamin C in a tablespoon of rose hip powder. I am pleased with the results physically but would like to know exactly how much I'm getting and if I need to add more. Short of contacting the manufacturer or heading to Jim Duke's NIH database and trying to figure out the math from there, can anyone offer any suggestions?
