I have rigged mine up to my Sota brand machine with alligator clips. Mine

I was using. My question is, they hardly hang into the water at all and it
seems to take longer. Of course I have not picked up any way of measuring
just what I have gotten from them in the water. The size of alligator clip
needed to hold them securely effectively leaves me with only half a coin
exposed. Any ideas for better machine to use them with or way of suspending
them? The only other thing I can think to do would be drill a hole and hang
them into the water on silver wires! Which kinda defeats the purpose of not
wanting to be buying silver wire.
Thanks for any ideas! Val

I have been using a small alligator clip that just hangs
onto the rim of the coin, This lets me put about 3/4 of the
coin in the water, but I have had a bit of trouble splashing
the clip with water, and then it rusts, inside the clip
because of the battery effect between the clip and the coin
where a small drop of water is trapped.

I don't think I have significantly contaminated the cell,
yet, but I am also trying to find a better way to submerge
the coin. I may try the hole and wire approach, but use a
copper wire and coat the joint and wire with epoxy. Or use
silver wire, as you say, but coat it, so it doesn't lose mass.

Still open to better suggestions.
