I wouldn't be surprised to see Ken (Ode) chime in on this thread soon. He's done a lot of testing and if I remember the general results, if you speed up the polarity switching beyond every 30 seconds or so you start to really slow down production.
Stirring is a big plus, which is why his and some other units feature it. There's a computer program called Fritzing that lets you mock up circuits on the image of a solderless breadboard... a very elaborate pictorial diagram generator. I'm thinking it would be a nifty way for you to communicate building instructions to Reece, John. Sadly it's not a circuit emulator, but it auto-generates schematics from the breadboard diagram and will even facilitate producing PC boards to implement the designs you create.
