Thanks JD
The piece I wrote about Covid is a synthesis of a long investigation. I
have scores of references I didnt include. But if the subject strikes a
chord, an interested person could go on an endless journey looking at
the multi phase characteristic of covid and the many implications of
treatments, vaccines and public health. An under represented aspect of
Covid.
Regarding complexing silver with herb extracts. I anticipate this is
going to be a controversy with this silver list. It appears that most
believe silver is totally benign, and any consideration of silver
toxicity and ways to mediate it may be met with derision. So I
acknowledge their strong beliefs but encourage an open mind. I
emphasize that Im not arguing for any view or inciting argument or
conflict. Biology is too huge and complex a subject to make definitive
claims.
When I research the toxicity of silver in aquatic systems, it leaves
little doubt in my mind there is a toxicity problem for many aquatic
species including fish. In fish and amphibian toxicity tests with 22
metals and metalloids, Silver was the most toxic tested element.
Likewise the potential for human toxicity is not resolved. There are
articles like this one which I read on Sci-hub which cover some of the
points
Adverse effects of nanosilver on human health and the environment
Rezvani, Kennedy et al
For me, there is a precautionary principle I invoke which is that we
normally get up to several 10s of micrograms of silver from food. So
when I started to see the many papers springing up in pubmed claiming
less toxicity and even enhanced effectiveness it was intuitively
attractive. Our evolutionary exposure to silver will normally be
complexed with plants, so it makes sense our biology would be tuned to
this form. Reasons why this may be so go beyond our limited imagination.
Silver has some extraordinary bio reactivity. Robert Becker had great
success in limb and bone regeneration using silver partly because silver
can de-differentiate cells.

healing'

"The AgNPs showed typical crystalline structures and spherical shapes
(average size =20 nm). High concentration of AgNPs induced cytotoxicity
in a dose-dependent manner by increasing lactate dehydrogenase leakage
and reactive oxygen species. Furthermore, AgNPs caused mitochondrial
dysfunction, DNA fragmentation, increased expression of apoptotic genes,
and decreased expression of antiapoptotic genes. Lower concentrations of
AgNPs induced neuronal differentiation by increasing the expression of
differentiation markers and decreasing the expression of stem cell markers"
So the possibility that my colloidal silver could de differentiate or
otherwise fold spindle or mutilate my neural cells has been in the back
of my mind longer than I can remember (joke). My father died with an
unknown problem in his brain which destroyed his balance and muscle
use. He had showed me how a colloidal silver sort of poultice had
changed the skin on his arm, leaving a large area slightly raised and
unpigmented with some granulation. We didnt know what to make of it.
I have continued to use silver over the decades since then but I have
been a little wary to give it to others with full confidence it is
completely non toxic.
How I complexed silver with witch hazel. Not very scientifically! I
chose witch hazel because it has one of the highest scores at reducing
peroxynitrite, one of the worst free radicals. I arbitrarily added
about five tablespoons of aquious/alcohol extract to a quart of my home
brewed colloidal/ionic silver. I let this sit for six months and
observed that it seemed stable and nothing fell out of suspension.
There was a slight haze. I dont know if complexing silver with herb
extract will make it better or less toxic, but the literature seems to
point in that direction.
