Lynn, I just recently cut a piece of Plexiglas to use as my 'lid'. I also 'candy-cane' the wires. I just drop the wires into the holes and then clip the jumper wires to them. The Plexiglas provides excellent strength and support. Plus, if you use one of the little .99 cent motors like Ol' Bob recommends, you can drill another hole in the Plexiglas to accommodate the shaft of the motor and it easily supports the extra weight there, too. You should be able to find some Plexiglas at a hardware store or maybe a craft/hobby shop. One other thing I like about the Plexiglas is that it allows a clear view into the 'brew'. Happy CS'n.
