I too am very wary of GE modified foods. But I do believe that some can be done properly and without perl. The addition of a gene that produces an insecticide in corn is NOT the way to produce a healthy GE modified food and I oppose such strongly. But the addition of gene that produces something like beta-carotene is most likely not going to be a problem, IF DONE RIGHT. I believe that almost all of our foods were GE modified prior to introduction to earth already anyway. It is just that it was done in the interest of humanity, not in the interest of making momey.
