Contains a bioengieered variet of cornnot approved for use in food for human consumption. Products: 2.5 to 2.9 million Taco Bell Home Originals Taco Shells and Taco Bell Home Originals Taco Diner. Recall pertains to any and all products regardless of date purchased. Products were made by Kraft Foods and sold at supermarkets nationwide. According to Taco Bell, the taco shell used at the chain's 7200 restaurants are formulate from a recipe different from Kraft's. However, Taco Bell is investigating whether the same unapproved corn variety has found its way into the restaurant products. The Environmental Protetion Agency had limited the use of the corn in question, known as "Starlink" because it may be an allergen. however, Avantis, the company responsible for starlink had canceled its registration for the corn.
