Onions? I dunno. Some leeks and wild onions could make you ill in quantity. Very strong!
Poke berries will make you extremely "regular", classed as poisonous but birds eat them...but then, birds are always very 'regular'.
Poke greens are very good food if boiled or very young. The toxins are water soluable. The root is toxic.
