Keep in mind that the sodium chloride added to water to start the reaction has
a finite amount of chloride. The chloride will combine with the silver ions
until it is nearly exhausted in accordance with the silver chloride solubility
product. Thereafter, silver ions added to the solution will no longer have
chloride to combine with, so will remain as silver ions.
