I thought Brooks' group determined that Gatorade [I think he used lactated
Ringers, and Gatorade is similar] improved absorption in the Upper GI
tract, and therefore rapid rise in blood level concentrations; did it also
improve the antimicrobial effects at a given concentration in the blood?

I wanted to jump in here briefly and tell you what an engineer friend of
mine discovered with CS that was "started" with a very mild saline
solution.
He fed two similar petri dishes of bacteria CS, one solution of which had
been "started" with salt and one without. He discovered that the
salt-started CS was highly inferior to killing the critters.

The experiment was repeated at least 5 times. Five out of the six times my
friend did the experiment, the non-salt CS did a vastly superior job of
 killing bacteria.

However, he DID find that tiny amounts of baking soda "started" the
solution
without compromising the microbe-killing ability of the CS.

I like to make my initial batch of CS by heating the distilled water first.
I heat it in the pyrex measuring cup in which it's being made, and place it
in a pan of water like a double boiler. I do this to avoid the possibility
of metal from a pot leeching into the CS water. Then, with subsequent
batches, I use some already made CS to "start" the solution.

Nina: Interesting in vitro results. Remember though, I initiated this thread
recollecting what Brooks Bradley had to say about the synergy between
Gatorade and CS with respect to IN VIVOS results in humans. I guessed that
perhaps the electrolytes in Gatorade are similar to saline. Roger
