You'd have to ask her for more detail as to her thinking, but I would guess she'd be equally concerned with nebulizing distilled water. The osmotic pressure, in this case, concerns the balance of salts on either side of the cell membranes. Putting what is essentially distilled water on the "air side" of the lung tissues will tend to draw stuff out of the cells. Like putting a salt water fish in fresh water, it'd throw things out of whack. How does she feel about taking a hot shower? Why would it be any, if at all, different? If you can create a prep with about as much salt as a standard saline solution that'd be easier on the lungs. It may not be that good for the silver, though! Be well, Mike D.
