A pif file is a MS Windows executable that can carry a virus payload. It is a common tactic of virus programmers to send you a file attachment with a name like: MeNaked.jpg.pif or ReadMe.txt.pif ... or other bits of clever psychology, hoping to encourage you to open the attachment, thus executing the virus code. DO NOT OPEN THE ATTACHMENT!!! It contains the badtrans worm. I've been told that the person's name is CHARLES PARR. I need the e-mail address of Mr. Parr if I'm going to send him a message warning him that he's infected and take him off the list until he's cleaned out his machine. Somebody please let me know his e-mail address! I have not received a message from him yet, so I'm depending on you folks!
