Hi Wayne My input voltage is 240v, dropped this experiment.
I am now back on HVAC. I have now two neon transformers: 1= 4500 V at 100 mA the other is 9200 V 50 mA. I just cant get them firing in the water. I have no experience on this subject. I can find no instructions at all on the internet. I am a little bit stuck on this. For this I used no current limiting. Do you want the current to stay stable at some specific value, after it increases to that value? If so, a good autoformer connected into the ac line would let you control it nicely. I have collected a number of the autoformers over the years. Before I learned how to build solid state supplies, I would use these in many ways to obtain variable voltages of specific values. Building neat little circuits in the late 50's and early 60's was a bit different than it is today. What is your input voltage? 120, 240, or 480, ac? Surely not 277 VAC?
