Looks like there are additional reasons to beware the pool:

water which had been associated with health problems...THMs are formed

"...In Holland they only use Ozone plants to purify their drinking water

where  as in Canada and most of the USA they use chorine and ammonia for

water purification. A University of Alberta Zoology professor apprised

that the  mixing of the two (chlorine and ammonia)  results in an
compound
that is  dangerously  carcinogenic. The reason they add the ammonia is
to
extend the  life and effectiveness of the chlorine...Now when they
add  Fluoride, which is a  close  cousin to Prozac,  you have quite the
cocktail..."
