If you add chlorine to a pool that has a silver ionizer, then the ions combine with the silver and plate out on the sides giving the pool argyria. They call it staining, but it is the same thing. There is one company that uses ozonation and copper that claims good results and no staining. I had one person off list that lives in Vegas (or was it Phoenix), that said they used that but it was insufficient to keep up with the organics that blew into their pool.
