Yep, and yep. I found a couple of the small party strobes for 15 bucks apiece on manager's special. When you add all that capacitance it in fact slows the pulse rate down by about the ratio of the capacitor values. The rate knob still works, adjusting from about 1 and 1/2 seconds per pulse to about twice that rate. The nice thing I added was a little toggle switch mounted just above the rate control. It's a single-pole double-throw switch that's momentary in one direction. I've used it to interrupt the trigger circuit so that in the on position it's automatic, in the center position it stops, and pressing down, it's easy to trigger a single pulse or let it run until you release. Sort of a select-fire feature! Maybe I should call it an "assault thumpy?" <grin> There's a diode from the input side of the trigger transformer to ground. I lifted the grounded end and ran wires from it to the switch and from the switch to the hole it came out of. Sweet. Mike D.
