Evening MA,

Hi Wayne. This caught my attention. I have digestive problems -- oh boy, do
I have digestive problems.

I think of the digestion system being the engine of the body. Lots of other accessories, pipes, sensors, valves, and the computer have to be working for the engine to run smoothly.

Possibly, my wonderful digestion system has been the number one factor for my disease free life. When my friends were telling me, "go to a doctor" during my spider bite battle, I told them that I would trade that right leg for my digestions system. No one understood what I meant. I meant that I value my digestions system more than my right arm or my right leg.

If I don't eat, I have gas and serious belching and feel sick to my stomach. If I do eat, ditto except I'm not nauseated. The
gas and belching can be accompanied by acid reflux. What I eat doesn't seem
to make any difference -- everything makes me sick. The only thing that seems
to help is antacids.

I think anti acids are a disaster and treat the symptoms, not the cause. Likely you have an HCL production problem. My studies suggest that many people over age 40 do not produce stomach acid properly, and by the time anyone is sick enough to go to a doctor, 90% of this group have HCL production problem.

If you don't produce enough HCL, everything you eat turns into a rotten, decaying, acidic mess. Most people think this means too much acid, and take anti acids.

Even the doctors use this approach. Another disaster.......

Exactly the opposite it true. You need to be adding the acid with the food. Or... try to get the acid production machine back into operation. HCL supplement with enzymes are relatively inexpensive.

>> Feel like I ought to see a doctor but that would mean a
lot of expensive tests and in the end they'll probably want to put me on a drug
that does about the same job as the antacids.

Likely you would not get an HCL test, unless you threatened the doctor. A nearby nurse works for a doctor I visit every two or three years for blood analysis. I asked her, in the 26 years you have worked for this doctor, how many people have you tested for HCL production? The answer was NONE. "We don't test for that".

This is one item that has a broad spectrum effect on all aspects of health and disease. Of course they don't test for that. If the HCL problem was corrects, this would mean many diseases, down the road would be eliminated.

I have tried probiotics in the past -- well, what I've tried is yogurt and guess what? It gave me acid stomach. I'm wondering about the enzymes -- I don't know much about that. Can
you point me in the right direction?

It is rare that any single thing is going to make the 180 deg turn for you. You will have to try several things to find a combination that will help.

One big factor, when anything about the digestion system is compromised, is that of proper food combining. If you have not studied this, and given it a try, you might be in for a pleasant surprise.

I won't cover all the details. A large percent of the people eat the wrong combination of foods for proper digestion.

By the way -- other than the digestive problem.

The digestion problem is an early warning that something is wrong. It is a symptom not to be treated lightly. You have to be careful that you don't do more harm than good when you try to correct the problem.

 I'm a pretty healthy individual -- 58 years old,

That is a magic age. This is where many people start downhill, if not before. It is time to really get serious about all aspects of your health, make the decisions and follow whatever ideas you feel are right.

About that age is when I got real hard nosed on some of my ideas. I feel better, work harder, weigh less, and many tell me I look younger than I did at age 55 or 58.

You might want to read the short article I wrote on the digestion system.
