   Did you tell him what you thought?  No.... you are too nice for that.

  The angstrom is simply a unit of measure,  one of length.

It is .0001 of one micron. Ten Thousand times smaller. Seems the silver ion is only a fraction of a micron. He might be talking about the exact same value, only using different units to express it.

One Micron = 10,000 Angstrom

Some sources state, the smallest possible form of silver is about .28 nanometers.

So, if you want a math exercise, convert all these units to his suggested size and enlighten him a bit.
