My thinking is that there is so much publicity right now, that if this worked, it would hit so fast and hard that it could not be ignored. With so many people being hurt financially (farmers for example) I think there would be much easier acceptance. It could also be promoted as a disinfection aid in health care situations, since autoclaving does not kill prions.
