Somewhere in the archives is an anecdotal report of a Vet saving a horse
from Eastern Equine Encephalitis with two  IV doses of a liter and a half
[1500 mL]  each of 15 mg/L CS.  I do not recall the spacing of the doses.
EEE is considered to be always fatal.  I do not recall the source of the CS
or the method by which it was made.  The report made no mention of any
anti-inflammatory drugs being given.

You would need very high doses and probably IV administration but yes you
could use MSM. And DMSO, IV or orally.

No one has experimented with these yet on WNV that I have heard of. I
certainly would use them. Since it is an encephalitis brain swelling is a
big problem. DMSO is very good for normalizing head trauma in stroke and
closed head injury.
